Admire and unforgettable memories in montenegro
Not everyone tends to spend their holidays abroad, surrounded by snow-white beaches and expensive hotels, where the emerald sea laps and everything is steeped in Western culture.
Sometimes, the soul longs for a romantic, exotic holiday with Slavic flair. In this case, nothing satisfies the desire more than resting in the hospitable tiny Montenegro. This cosy place attracts lovers of ecological and inexpensive recreation. Moreover, one can relax here for a month without issuing a visa.
Montenegro is a country of untouched nature, breathtaking mountain landscapes and picturesque plains, clear rivers and lakes, dense forests, and ancient cities ... This country will remain in the heart of everyone who has visited it once.
Montenegro has developed relatively recently as a tourist destination but already enjoys great popularity. Thanks to its advantages combined with reasonable prices and quality but unobtrusive service, the number of people who want to relax here is growing yearly.
The locals are Slavic and friendly. They sympathize with the Russians and understand the Russian language well, as Montenegro's national language - Serbian-Croatian - shares Slavic roots.
Accommodation in Montenegro.
Hotel service is not very well developed here, but it is unnecessary because Montenegro is where lovers of unity with nature meet. Silence and peace are essential parts of this country. Families come here to relax with their children, to escape the routine work and bustle of the city, the dusty streets, and the air that clogs the lungs with toxic gases. And the prices here are pleasant for every traveller: after the holiday, taking out a loan or cutting the ration will not be necessary; Montenegro does not require significant expenses.
Visitors usually prefer accommodation in villas or flats. Cosy, warm, secluded holiday homes are 100-500 meters from the beaches.
Beach holidays in Montenegro
The climate on the Montenegrin coast is Mediterranean, with dry and hot summers. But the heat is well dissipated by the proximity of the mountains. The coast has ideal conditions for swimming, and the beaches are among the best in Europe. The tourist season is long and lasts seven months - from the end of April to the end of October.
The best bathing resorts in Montenegro are located on the Adriatic coast and form the so-called Budva Riviera. It is an almost 35-kilometer-long strip of beaches and resorts with well-developed infrastructure. There are resorts for every taste: the resort of Budva is famous for its old town and lively atmosphere, in the resort of Becici a beautiful beach, a water park and many villas and hotels await tourists, the quiet and picturesque resort of Petrovac is ideal for families with children.
Of course, secluded beaches are also protected from strong winds and waves. They are located in small bays between steep rocks. The beaches suit all tastes, from fine sand to artificial concrete. For lovers of naturalness, Montenegro also has several nude beaches. Artificial beaches are mainly located in Igalo, Bar, Tivat, and Herceg Novi, i.e. on the northwest coast.
Sightseeing in Montenegro
Many travel agencies in the resorts offer excursions throughout the country and to neighbouring countries. You can also rent a car and tour the country alone, especially since Montenegro is small and compact.
Montenegro is a country of Christian churches and temples, the largest religious sanctuaries and relics. The most famous is the Ostrog Monastery, a monument from the XVII century. Carved into the rock at an altitude of 900 m above sea level, it seems to float in the air. Here, you can venerate the relics of the Montenegrin miracle worker and healer St. Vasily Ostrozhsky.
The cultural and historical centre of the country is the city of Cetinje. In addition to numerous museums, there is also the famous Cetinsky Monastery, where the relics venerated by Christians - the hand of John the Baptist and the Lord's Cross - are kept.
The city of Kotor can be considered an open-air museum, as there are many medieval historical monuments such as fortresses, churches, and palaces.
Entertainment in Montenegro
Fans of extreme sports and outdoor activities will get their money's worth here, for example, rafting on the Tara River. The Tara Gorge is the deepest gorge in Europe and the second largest in the world, on the World Heritage List UNESCO. This is a place of wild, untouched nature: no roads or settlements here. Turquoise, transparent water surrounded by rocks with bizarre contours, steep rapids, a majestic bridge connecting both river banks, and rare plants growing on the banks will give nature lovers an unforgettable impression.
Some local travel agencies organize boat trips on Lake Skadar - the largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula. During the walk, you can swim in the lake, and at the end of the trip, dinner in a local fish restaurant is recommended.
National cuisine
The local cuisine spoils guests with delicious and hearty dishes in the style of the country. Not least are hot meat and fish dishes made from the freshest seafood. The famous Negush cheese and prosciutto (smoked ham) are best tasted in the village of Negushi, where they are produced. Montenegro is a hospitable country, and cafés and restaurants are surprising with large, sometimes huge portions.
Everyone will discover something new and beautiful in this amazing country because every corner is exciting and unique.
